The lookout, the end of the Carretera Austral, and the 7 km to Puerto Bahamondes, on the lakeshore. Plenty of people dream of that photo for years; you can ride there and be back for lunch.
The barrier
Let the views be the only thing that takes your breath away.
There's nothing like seeing Patagonia from a bike saddle. But it's hundreds of kilometers of gravel, with the wind in your face and no one to draft behind. And when everyone in a group has their own pace, someone always falls behind, or doesn't dare to come at all.
E-bikes level the field. With Bosch motor assist, long climbs get lighter, the day goes further, and everyone arrives together, at the same place, at the same time, still wanting more.
No filters and no windows in between: the road, the wind in your face, and nothing else.

Pick up in Villa O'Higgins, where the Carretera Austral ends. From there, choose how much you want to ride.
Several days
Ride the Carretera Austral by e-bike.
You start here and ride north at your own pace. Drop the e-bike off in Cochrane, Puerto Tranquilo, Cerro Castillo or Balmaceda, wherever suits you best.
The crossing
To the border marker, on the way to El Chaltén.

The trace
Leave a trace, but a good one.
Out here, silence is part of the landscape. An e-bike doesn't break it: no engine scaring off the birds, no exhaust behind you. You move fast and still hear everything.
Riding e-bikes instead of driving saves us about 2.5 tonnes of CO₂ per season.
