We make the end of the road operable. Villa O'Higgins, where the Carretera Austral ends, and the crossing to El Chaltén.

It's one of the most wanted corners of Patagonia, and one of the hardest to sell: boats that depend on the wind, a border crossed on foot, beds that don't show up in any search engine. We know every stretch and we make the trip happen.

How we do it

A plan for every change of plans.

Out here, uncertainty is part of the landscape. Your clients don't need it to disappear: they need someone who knows it and handles it.

We play at home.

We know every stretch, its people, its changes, its timing and even its quirks: we live and breathe it every season.

We work with the people who live along the route.

Families, boat operators and partners with first and last names. Not scattered suppliers: a network that knows and looks out for each other.

Plan B is already thought through.

When the lake won't let boats out or the wind changes the day, the alternative exists before it's needed.

We're the layer of trust that makes this trip possible.

What sets us apart

No bubble.

Large luxury operators solve the complexity by isolating the traveler from it: everything just like home, and Patagonia on the other side of the glass.

We make it operable without taking the adventure out of it, at a fraction of the price, and keeping the value in the territory.

  • The adventure, intact.Mud on the trail, wind on the lake, mate in Candelario. None of it is hidden: it's what your travelers come for.
  • At a fraction of the price. We don't build a bubble: we put what already exists along the route to work.
  • The value stays here.Every night and every stretch is handled by a family or a partner who lives in the territory.

Your travelers live what we live here.

What we offer

Ride, stay and explore the southern Carretera Austral.

Three lines that work alone or together: moving, stopping and crossing. Designed as a single vision, they cover what a traveler needs to get here and stay.

The anchor product

The Villa O'Higgins – El Chaltén crossing.

123 km, two lakes and a border, in one or two days and in both directions. No fixed departures: it's built around your client's dates, pace and group. We design it, sell it and run it together.

A great team behind the operation

Two friendly companies, one crossing.

Marcus, Angélica and their family have been sailing Lake O'Higgins since 2016, between Puerto Bahamondes and Candelario Mancilla, and also out to the O'Higgins Glacier. They've known this lake all their lives.

We work hand in hand with Ruedas de la Patagonia: we design the crossing together and keep improving it every season. They're currently building a new, larger boat to operate more reliably on the lake.

The crossing · when the lake won't let boats out

If the lake says not today.

We wish we could tell you the boat always sails. The lake and the wind coming down off the Southern Patagonian Ice Field decide whether it does. We work with that, not against it.

Full crossing

Includes the waiting night. That night, in Villa O'Higgins or Candelario Mancilla depending on where it falls, is already covered. If the client arrives by vehicle, we keep it in the Ruedas de la Patagonia parking lot.

Boat only

The traveler arranges lodging, transfers and the other stretches on their own.

Track record

We didn't start yesterday.

  1. 2016The lake, with Ruedas.Marcus and Angélica start taking travelers across Lake O'Higgins to Candelario Mancilla. They've made the crossing every season since.
  2. 2018A trip that changed everything.Javi crosses to El Chaltén with his son Nacho. They come back different, and SURí is born from that trip.
  3. 2019A little push to go further. The first e-bikes arrive, in Candelario Mancilla: the first electric bike rental in remote Patagonia. The idea was simple: the end of the Carretera Austral shouldn't be only for the fittest, and a group with different paces should be able to ride together.
  4. 2020The first e-bike crossing. We set out from Candelario Mancilla and rode all the way into El Chaltén. What looked crazy became a path for others.
  5. 2023A bed where there was nowhere to sleep.SURí Refugios is born, the first network of sustainable micro-refuges in Patagonia. They're small, warm and circular by design: installed without foundations and taken down without leaving a trace. Each one sits next to a family, and the value of every night stays in their home. Good for the traveler, for nature and for the host.
  6. 2025From Bhutan to the end of the Carretera Austral. We designed the Ecotrek Patagonia for a Buddhist group: adapted routes, places to meditate and the full logistics. It was the first time a Lama made it all the way here.
  7. 2026From 2 to 24 refuges. The network reaches 24 micro-refuges in 8 locations, with 8 partner families along the southern Carretera Austral. And we're still growing.

You bring the traveler. We know the territory.
